Suite Francaise by Irene Nemirovsky
How was the book?
Well, Deb didn't really care for the book but comments were mostly positive. (Deb didn't completely get through the whole book.) The first section was so long and had so many different characters that it was easy to lose interest. The second and third sections were shorter and brought the characters together which helped grab the reader.
It's always interesting to learn about actual events throughout history and this book offered a glimpse into WW2 from someone who actually lived it. Unfortunately, Irene Nemirovsky didn't escape the horrors of the Germans and died in Auschwitz. We all agreed that her story would be a fascinating read.
